A glade in a deciduous wood – mostly beech trees. A path entices walkers through the
thicket, maybe there is a sense of a journey undertaken, as the eye leads through,
accented only by dots of light penetrating the woodland canopy. An arch of a semi
fallen tree frames the scene. This woodland surrounds an Iron Age Hill fort, the
footsteps that you see here may echo those from centuries before. Probably a site of
much activity in the past, and I also believe this path is the remains of an old drovers
road. Now the footsteps are much lighter, a few walkers, sightseers, a random artist.
